Team Coletta Runner:
Br. Jason Welle
May the Lord give you peace! My name is Br. Jason Welle, OFM. I was born in Albany, MN, a small farming town in the center of the state. I graduated from St. Olaf College in 2001, then
finished a Master's in Theological Studies at the University of Notre Dame in 2003. I entered the
Assumption BVM Province of the Franciscans
the following September and have enjoyed a blessed
and challenging three years as a friar since then! Currently, I live in Hyde Park,
study in the Master Divinity program at the Catholic Theological Union, and am in my second year of temporary vows.
I played varsity football in high school and college on the offensive line but picked up distance
running
as a hobby a year ago because my brother Scott, a personal trainer, had become so active in it.
Last year's Chicago
Marathon was my first race and Scott and I
ran the whole thing together,
shoulder-to-shoulder from start to finish. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life and
I can't wait for this year's race, which I expect to be even more meaningful because I'm running it for
St. Coletta's. I'd appreciate any support you could give me and this wonderful organization, whether
financial support or the strength that comes from prayer.
Peace and Good!
-Br. Jason Welle
